TeamLab Borderless Tokyo Location
As of February 2024, teamLab Borderless has a permanent location in the upscale Azabudai Hills area of Tokyo. Here you will find new luxurious hotels, shopping and restaurants in this modern neighborhood.
To reach the site I recommend using the train from Kamiyacho station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line or Roppongi-Itchome on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. Don’t worry- if this sounds confusing, simply input “Azabudai Hills” into Google Maps and it will guide you.
Limited parking is available in the Azabudai Hills Hills in parking lot P6. Taking the train or ridesharing is the most convenient way to visit.

- Once you reach Azabudai Hills, you have to go to the basement of the Garden Plaza to reach the entrance.

Tickets & Entrance to TeamLab Borderless
Due to growing popularity, I recommend securing entrance tickets in advance on the official website. Although it is possible to purchase same-day tickets, they often sell out. Credit cards and PayPal are accepted.
- Your ticket specifies a thirty minute arrival window. You can either print your ticket or scan the QR code on your mobile ticket to enter.
- You may modify your teamlab ticket up to three times, but changes are subject to restrictions and availability.

- Ages 13-17: 2800 JPY

The least crowded times to visit are mornings when the museum opens or before closing. Weekends are very crowded, especially mid-day.

Visitor Tips For Tokyo’s Digital Art Gallery
- Some of the rooms have mirrored floors, so short skirts are not advised.
- Give yourself plenty of time to find the entrance, it’s a bit difficult to locate.
- You may have to wait in line before you are allowed to enter.
- Guests may stay as long as they like, but re-entry is not permitted.
- Most of the exhibits are dark, so consider that if you bring small children.
- Anyone with sensitivity to strobe or flashing lights should use caution.
- Elementary children must be with an adult, and one adult can supervise up to 5 children.
- Strollers are not allowed.
- There is an elevator for accessibility.
- Lockers are available onsite.
- There is no food available, but there are restaurants nearby in the mall complex.
- Plan to spend two hours or more at the exhibit.

There are no maps or pathways determining where to go- each visitor’s experience within the art collective is unique. Pay attention to how the art interacts with you, it will move around you on the floor and walls. Notice how the sounds and smells of each room changes, giving a complete sensory experience.
One of the most popular areas is a “creative physical space” where walls and floors are covered in art. One of the most intriguing features is the digital waterfall that gives the illusion of water particles moving down the wall. Additionally, you can climb up rock-like structures textured with art.
Seeking Stamps Tip: Surfaces are uneven, so anyone with mobility issues should proceed with caution.
Light Sculpture
Throughout the art museum you will see original light displays. They cover a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns. From light vortices, aurora circles, chromatic infinity, and seas of clouds- these lightscapes are sure to leave you in awe!
Forest of Flowers
In this room, immerse yourself in colorful projections of flowers. In response to movement they “bloom” and “wither” in a captivating display. The immersive floral landscape feels like you are in a field of flowers and you can watch them grow and blow in the breeze as you walk through the exhibit.
Bubble Universe & Microcosmoses
This is an infinite crystal world that sparkles with mirrors and LED lights, creating an illusion of endless space. Walking through the room feels like you are surrounded by thousands of brilliant diamonds! Guests can use their phones to change colors and patterns of the lights, which react to touch and movement. We could have spent hours in here- it’s truly breathtaking!

Future Park
The Teamlab Future Park is an area based on “collaborative creation” where young children’s imaginations can run wild. This portion of the art gallery includes a musical wall and sketch aquarium. Visitors can participate by drawing art for the sketch ocean and watch the art come alive. If you touch the fish, they swim away and move between rooms.
Seeking Stamps Tip: For a unique souvenir, turn your sketches into gifts such as t-shirts or tote bags. Make sure to visit the teamLab Sketch Factory located outside of the museum.
En Tea House
After you spend the day exploring the museum, stop by the En Tea House for refreshments. As you sip tea, flowers bloom inside your cup in a stunning display.
