Located along the stunning coastline of Southern California, Carlsbad is known for its clean beaches and breathtaking views. Whether you’re looking to soak up some rays, surf, or take a leisurely stroll, Carlsbad’s pristine beaches provide endless opportunities for relaxation and adventure.
Here are some of the best Carlsbad Beaches:
South Ponto Beach
If you are looking for a family-friendly beach in Carlsbad visit South Ponto. This is a great beach for families because it has a large parking lot, showers and bathrooms. During the summer there are lifeguards on duty and waves are gentle. Our family has spent countless hours at South Ponto Beach over the years, and it continues to be our “go-to” Carlsbad beach.

South Carlsbad State Beach
Below the South Carlsbad Campground you can visit South Carlsbad State Beach. Access to South Carlsbad State Beach is easiest through the campground, down a large set of stairs. Parking inside is only for campers, but you can park across the street off of Island Way and walk over.
